UniLaSalle, finalist in the "Positive impact on society" category with the Guide Babine project
The International Green Gown Awards supported by the UN Environment are open to any higher education institution throughout the world. After winning the awards at the Trophées Francophones des Campus Responsables on February 10, UniLaSalle is continuing its drive to make the "Guide Babine" project known internationally. And it is in the final!
On the Beauvais campus, puppies are trained and accompanied by students and employees to become guide dogs for the blind. This project is co-managed by UniLaSalle's disability mission, the Uni4Handi'cap student association, the CGLV association (Guide Dog for Visual Freedom) and UniLaSalle's Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility department.
A 2nd higher education establishment of the La Salle network in the running!
The Institut Polytechnique UniLaSalle is delighted to be alongside De LaSalle University in Dasmarinas in the Philippines in this international recognition. The Philippine university presented its actions for a sustainable campus and is positioned in the Sustainability Institution of the year category.
But UniLaSalle shares more than just a final! The 2 establishments are part of the La Salle Universities network, which allows student-engineers to benefit from academic stays at the beginning of the engineering cycle. The Go La Salle program, as it is called at UniLaSalle, allows students to discover affiliated universities throughout the world. It is an opportunity to share and open up to other cultures.
Each year, a group of students leaves for the Philippines. Laurence, who has had the experience, recounts:
"De La Salle University has 14,000 students! What a setting and what daily management! This campus tends to preserve biodiversity and natural spaces as much as possible, that's what makes it a good place to live and study".
