Slime, what else? Well, remember the slime, the little slimy, malleable paste, beyond the entertaining toy, at UniLaSalle Rennes it's a learning tool.
As part of the Life Cycle of Polymers minor, the aim is to understand the life cycle of polymers, from their synthesis to their end-of-life.
Rennes Environmental Engineering students study the history of plastics: their diversity, their components, their uses, their effects...
This analysis enables them to :
- develop keys to more environmentally-friendly synthesis.
- understand the importance of research in the synthesis of polymers with controlled microstructures.
Back to Slime!
The practical work will enable us to synthesize 3 polymers with different uses: a milk-based casein glue, a nylon fiber and Slime!
Each has a different role to play in everyday life, respectively: adhesive/glue, textile fiber and fun/educational.
