7 students travelled to Oslo with their teacher-researcher Renaud Toullec to attend the EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) International Congress.
Seven students from UniLaSalle's Geo-energies, Climatic risks and Territories course (engineering training in Geosciences and Environment), accompanied by their teacher Renaud Toullec, were able to attend the International Geosciences Conference & Exhibition organized by the EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers).
Held from June 10 to 13 in Oslo (Norway), the event was an ideal opportunity to reinforce participants' technical knowledge of geology and geophysics, as well as to develop their professional network - a particularly vital aspect for our young future graduates.
Most of the major groups, service and consulting companies were present, and several thousand people registered for this key congress, which sets the pace for industry, schools and universities worldwide every year.
The wide-ranging themes covered all the so-called "new" energies (wind power, geothermal energy, hydrogen, etc.), but above all the crucial and strategic aspects of CO2 capture and storage, which were very much in the spotlight at this year's event.
Finally, decarbonized energies were in the spotlight, in a context of energy transition whose technical, environmental, economic and societal aspects are covered by UniLaSalle's Geo-energies, Climatic Risks and Territories and Sustainable Mineral Resources courses.
A great learning experience for all!
