On September 26, UniLaSalle Rouen students kicked off the year with their traditional Kick-Off, organized by the Bureau des Sports (BDS)! On the program: soccer tournaments, solidarity events and a good dose of conviviality. Discover the highlights of a day when sport and Lasallian values were in the spotlight!
Every year, UniLaSalle Rouen's Kick-Off kicks off the sporting season and heralds a year full of competitions. But this time, the Bureau des Sports (BDS) pulled out all the stops to mark the occasion. Despite the fickle Normandy weather, students and staff turned out in force to share a unique and festive moment. Between seven-a-side soccer matches and solidarity events, the day also highlighted the school's team spirit and solidarity.
The tournament that brings everyone together!
The Kick-Off is above all UniLaSalle Rouen's annual soccer tournament. And once again this year, the various student teams faced off on the pitch in a supercharged atmosphere, despite the rain! To close the tournament, a tradition continued with a very special match pitting the BDS team against a team made up of various members of the administration.
In the end, it was the administration team that won for the fourth year running! Beyond this victory, the members of the administration were delighted to share this moment of relaxation and conviviality with the students, a rare setting that is appreciated by all.
Solidarity and awareness-raising at the heart of the day
In addition to the sport, BDS had planned a number of events to mobilize the community around important causes. On the one hand, there were highlights such as the wheelchair race, and on the other, several awareness-raising stands were present. Les Baskets Solidaires, a Normandy-based association founded by students from the school, was there to promote the fight against breast cancer. They also took the opportunity to recruit new runners and walkers for the Seine Rose race, which takes place on October 13 in Rouen! Last year, thanks to their actions, the association raised over 20,000 euros for the Ligue contre le cancer de Normandie, a target they hope to exceed this year.
The SNSM (Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer) stand, co-hosted by UniLaSalle engineering student and rescue swimmer Pierrick, offered first-aid training, including cardiac massage. Between two matches, many students took the opportunity to learn these life-saving techniques, making the workshop as useful as it was rewarding.
Once again, this Kick-Off showed that the start of the new academic year at UniLaSalle Rouen is not just a classroom affair, but also a real one! It's the perfect opportunity to fully embrace the school's values of teamwork, commitment and responsibility. If the BDS is determined to win the trophy against the administration next year, their next event in sight is the SupCup, a sporting event that brings together some twenty schools from the Rouen Metropolis. To be continued... !
