A world first for the 001 veterinary class!
Every year, UniLaSalle's GoLaSalle program opens the doors of the world to its third-year students, whether in engineering or veterinary training. This year, an historic moment marks the adventure: the first class of UniLaSalle Rouen's Veterinary School, which will open in 2022, leaves for its very first semester abroad.
120 veterinary students on 5 continents
A total of 120 veterinary students are taking part in this international mobility program:
- 76% in study semesters and 24% in research semesters,
- Spread over 27 destinations and 5 continents, including Brazil, Costa Rica, Taiwan, Lithuania and Kenya.
Discovering Kenya
Six students from veterinary class 001 have chosen Kenya, divided between two partner universities. Among them, Oxandre and four other students will soon be starting their exchange semester at the University of Nairobi. On site, they are guided by Dr. Ambrose Kipyegon, teacher and contact person for the students.
“I chose this destination to discover a new culture very different from our own, and to explore a unique teaching and care method. It's also an incredible opportunity to see animals we're not used to seeing in France! ”
This testimonial reflects the very essence of the GoLaSalle program: an immersive experience that combines academic enrichment and human discovery.
Why international mobility for all students?
Whether for engineers or veterinarians, at UniLaSalle Rouen or on other UniLaSalle campuses, the semester abroad meets several objectives:
- Develop intercultural skills: in a globalized world, understanding and respecting cultural differences is essential to evolve serenely and effectively.
- Discover a variety of practices: depending on the context, priorities differ, whether in scientific approaches, veterinary care practices or engineering techniques. This diversity enriches students' training.
- Meet students from all over the world: these international exchanges forge friendships, create networks and leave lasting memories.
- Learn adaptability: as Caroline Boulocher, Director of the Veterinary College, points out:
“Nothing ever goes according to plan, and knowing how to accept this is a valuable skill, both in personal and professional life. It forges a flexible mind, capable of learning from every situation.”
A challenge taken up by UniLaSalle
Organizing international mobility for all its students, engineers and veterinarians alike, is an ambitious project that the school has given itself the means to achieve. The addition of specific academic partners for veterinary training in record time - less than two and a half years - demonstrates UniLaSalle's ability to innovate and adapt.
With its four campuses in France (Amiens, Beauvais, Rennes and Rouen) and more than 250 academic partnerships worldwide, UniLaSalle is committed to training competent professionals who are open to the world and ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
GoLaSalle is much more than just a semester: it's a life experience, a springboard for the future and an open door to the world!
