Going abroad to enrich their academic and personal careers is an experience taken up by many UniLaSalle students. But how do you reconcile international adventure with a commitment to the environment? This is the challenge taken up by the GoLaSalle program, which encourages future engineers from Amiens, Beauvais, Rennes and Rouen to favor Green Mobility. An approach in which trains, buses, carpools and bicycles replace air travel wherever possible to reduce carbon footprints. At a time when 51% of UniLaSalle's greenhouse gas emissions are linked to travel, it's time to take action!
A socially responsible and rewarding adventure
Adopting Green Mobility isn't just about doing something for the planet. It's also a unique travel experience, where you take the time to discover different landscapes and cultures. Travelling in a group, meeting locals during a train stopover or enjoying the scenery by bike makes the journey as enriching as the destination. This sustainable commitment is also an asset on the CV: it testifies to social responsibility and sensitivity to climate issues, two qualities sought after by recruiters.
The carbon permit: a tool
UniLaSalle wants to go even further by integrating the carbon impact of travel into its students' training through the carbon permit. This experimental scheme makes it possible to calculate and limit the CO₂ emissions linked to their mobility throughout their course. With an adjustable quota of 1.2 tons of CO₂ per student, the aim is clear: to raise awareness of environmental impact and encourage responsible transport choices, while leaving open the possibility of long-distance travel when necessary. An ambitious approach that embodies the values of innovation and responsibility carried by UniLaSalle.
