INTERREG ADAGIO project evaluates the impact of a nutritional solution on the gut microbiome in vitro
The digestive system being constituted of an important microbial flora, it seems essential to study the impact of the molecules of interest and digestates of the nutritional solution resulting from the INTERREG ADAGIO project on the intestinal flora.
Different bacterial species have been selected. They were chosen for their differences in pathogenicity (from beneficial to potentially pathogenic), their different roles in digestive health and their location in the body.
Different in vitro tests were therefore performed to evaluate the impact of the nutritional solution on the growth of bacteria and thus predict the effect of the solution on the intestinal microbiota. This information completes our study of the potential effects of the nutritional solution on digestive health.
Aangezien de microbiële flora een belangrijke rol vervult in het spijsverteringsstelsel, bleek het van essentieel belang om binnen het INTERREG ADAGIO-project de invloed van de beschouwde moleculen in de voedingsoplossing en de hun digestaten op de darmflora te bestuderen.
Verschillende bacteriesoorten werden geselecteerd. Zij werden gekozen op basis van hun verschillen in pathogeniciteit (variërend van heilzaam tot potentieel pathogeen), hun bijdrage aan een gezonde spijsvertering en hun plaats van voorkomen in het lichaam.
Daartoe werden verschillende in vitro proeven uitgevoerd om de invloed van de voedingsoplossing op de groei van bacteriën te beoordelen en zo het effect van de oplossing op de darmmicrobiota te voorspellen. Deze informatie vervolledigt ons onderzoek naar de mogelijke effecten van de voedingsoplossing op een gezonde spijsvertering.
