The INTERREG ADAGIO project realizes the evaluation of the nutritional solution on cell cultures in vitro
Het INTERREG ADAGIO project realiseert de evaluatie van de nutritionele oplossing op celculturen in vitro
The in vitro experiments represent a large part of the ADAGIO project. Among them, we can find experiments using cells in culture. The cells used are composed of enterocytes (cells allowing absorption) and caliciform cells (cells allowing mucus secretion) which can be found mainly in the small intestine (duodenum, jejunum and ileum) and also in the colon.
Various tests were therefore carried out to determine the reactions of the cells, once in contact with the different molecules of interest and digestates of the nutritional solution.
These tests provide a lot of knowledge on the potential effects of these molecules and inform on their potential use in animal and human nutrition.
De in vitro-experimenten vormen een groot deel van het ADAGIO-project. Daartoe behoren experimenten met celculturen. De gebruikte cellen bestaan uit enterocyten (cellen die instaan voor absorptie) en caliciforme cellen (cellen die mucus kunnen afscheiden), die vooral in de dunne darm (duodenum, jejunum en ileum) en ook in de dikke darm te vinden zijn.
Er werden verschillende tests uitgevoerd om de reacties van de cellen te bepalen zodra zij in contact kwamen met de te onderzoeken moleculen van de voedingsoplossing en hun digestaten.
Deze proeven leveren veel kennis op over de mogelijke effecten van deze moleculen en verschaffen informatie over het mogelijke gebruik ervan in dierlijke en humane voeding.
