3,210 m² of new spaces for seminars and spaces for innovative teaching practices.
Nearly 3210 m² of new spaces were inaugurated this Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. in the renovated premises of the historic UniLaSalle Beauvais farm:
- La Grange: a 450 m² reception room with a catering office and a control room for the organization of seminars and festive events.
- La Longère: three meeting rooms to support continuing education activities. 11 rooms, a kitchen, a lounge and a dining room contribute to the conviviality of the premises.
- Le Fenil: A 500 m² Learning Center on the first floor with a documentation center, a coworking space with a capacity of 50 people and 6 work spaces with a capacity of about ten people on the first floor.
These new premises allow us to meet a double objective:
- To improve the supply of seminar spaces in the Beauvaisis area in order to develop the organization of conferences and economic or scientific events;
- To offer additional spaces dedicated to collaborative teaching practices, thus responding to the Hauts-de-France region's desire to support higher education institutions in innovative teaching methods.
The inauguration of these new spaces also corresponds to the continuation of the rehabilitation project of the historic farm, the first phase of which (rehabilitation of the Bergerie) was inaugurated in September 2015.
An architectural and energy feat
The rehabilitated UniLaSalle farmhouse bears the history of the former abbey of St. Lucien de Beauvais, dating from the 10th century. With its square courtyard, composed of a dwelling (La longère) and old buildings allowing mixed activities of culture and breeding, the historical farm is a perfect representation of the traditional Picardy farm. Today, the place has changed vocation but has kept the soul of the past. A work of patrimonial conservation allowed thanks to the architectural firm Architecture&Design.
Another remarkable element is that thanks to a set of 9 vertical geothermal probes 150 meters deep located along the building and connected to a heat pump in the boiler room, geothermal energy covers 93% of the heating needs and 100% of the air conditioning and cooling needs of the buildings. This technology has no impact on the landscape, noise, water quality or the subsoil, and even reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 83% compared to a reference gas solution.
A framework partnership agreement between UniLaSalle and the Beauvaisis agglomeration community.
The inauguration, supported by the Hauts-de-France region, the Beauvaisis agglomeration community, ADEME Hauts-de-France and the city of Beauvais, is also an opportunity to sign a framework partnership agreement for the period 2023-2026 between UniLaSalle and the Beauvaisis agglomeration community.
The Communauté d'agglomération du Beauvaisis (C.A.B.) has for many years forged close links with UniLaSalle through collaboration, which the two institutions wish to strengthen in the form of a multi-year framework partnership agreement for 2023-2026. Indeed, UniLaSalle and the C.A.B. are working together on shared issues in connection with the territory's economic development strategy, the SLESRI (Local Plan for Higher Education, Research and Innovation), the PAT (Territorial Food Project) etc. The objective of this framework agreement is to formulate common ambitions, to bring out synergies by centralizing Unilasalle's requests relating to the development of its campus.
