Semesters 7 to 9 - The career path

The last two years of the Agro, Food & Environmental Engineering program, which leads to the Agronomy and Agro-industries engineering diploma, are devoted to specialization courses.

The career path takes place over three semesters, and is made up of majors and minors that allow you to personalize your curriculum according to your desires and projects.

It is completed at the end of semester 8 (end of 4th year) by a 4-month “assistant engineer” internship, which will give you hands-on experience of professional practice.

In the Agro, Food & Environmental Engineering program, you can choose from 5 career paths, taught in English on the Rouen or Beauvais campuses.

Assistant engineer internship (4 months)

Carried out at the end of 4th year, the assistant engineer internship involves carrying out technical and operational assignments within a company or institutional organization.

Students are placed in a situation of autonomy: they familiarize themselves with the internship issues, are confronted with professional practice (adaptability, analytical skills, rigor in carrying out tasks, interpersonal skills), with a view to developing their personal and professional skills.

The following will be taken into account when assessing this internship

• the approach adopted in the search for an internship,
• adaptability (methods, tools, internal processes),
• ability to take a step back from the work carried out during the internship.

Semester 10 - Final year internship (6 months)

The final and decisive stage of engineering training at UniLaSalle, the final year internship enables students to experience a pre-professional situation in which they will have to respond to a problem posed by an organization. It is an essential part of the curriculum, and enables the jury to decide whether or not to award the engineering diploma.

It enables students to :

• become familiar with professional practice,
• develop personally and professionally,
• demonstrate their skills,
• facilitate integration into the profession.

The student/apprentice validates certain notions acquired in the academic context, grasping their meaning, scope and limits. The trainee/apprentice also has the opportunity to develop management skills, listening, communication and teamwork skills. They carry out concrete projects. Professional practice brings valuable expertise to the student/apprentice at the start of his or her career.

The internship leads to the writing and oral presentation of a final dissertation.

With courses taught 100% in English, the Agro, Food & Environmental Engineering program is UniLaSalle's international training program par excellence, leading to an engineering degree in Agronomy & Agro-industries.

It is enriched by at least one compulsory 4-month stay abroad via the Go-LaSalle program. This stay at a Lasallian university is replaced by courses and an 8-week internship abroad for students entering the 1st year of the engineering cycle via parallel admission.

Students can add a second international experience in the final year of the engineering cycle, in the form of a semester, a double-diploma or a degree-granting stay at a partner university.

Dual degree and double diploma stays

Longer than a simple semester of study, a degree-granting stay or double degree is an experience :

• at a university that has an agreement with UniLaSalle, or at a university that does not have an agreement or partnership (on the student's proposal)
• enables students to obtain 2 diplomas: one from the host university and one from UniLaSalle
• from 12 to 24 months, depending on the host university
