UniLaSalle joins Group A of engineering schools.
According to l'Etudiant's 2023 rankings, UniLaSalle has reached a new milestone by joining Group A of engineering schools, with a score of 51 out of 111. This is the culmination of several years' investment in redesigning its programs to meet the expectations of companies and students' quest for meaning.
A place for ecological and social transition
New this year is the integration of two criteria associated with the ecological and societal transition, criteria that are consistent with the expectations of the younger generation. The first is parity, a criterion integrated into the "Student Diversity" index, while the second is the creation of a bonus for the 15 schools awarded the "Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility" label. These two points underline Uni4Change's strategy of training, research and collective action for ecological and societal transformation.
The corporate network as a backbone
L'Etudiant 2023 uses 3 criteria to evaluate the school's closeness to companies: the starting salary, the policy of teaching and research chairs, and the number of companies present at forums.
On a national scale, UniLaSalle appears to be a leading school in terms of relations with companies and preparation for professional integration in many specialties. With a score of 23/30, UniLaSalle ranks in :
- 1st position out of 12 for agriculture,
- 1st position out of 12 for forestry and biosystems engineering,
- 1st position out of 23 for agri-food engineering,
- 1st position out of 18 for biological engineering,
- 1st position out of 3 for geology,
- 3rd position out of 23 for environmental engineering,
- 3rd position out of 13 for the engineer manager category,
- 6th position out of 48 for electrical and electronics engineering,
- 8th out of 49 for computer science.
What to remember?
UniLaSalle is a member of Group A of engineering schools. In the regions where its campuses are located, i.e. Brittany, Hauts-de-France and Normandy, UniLaSalle is a major player in its specialist fields: agriculture, agri-food, environment, geosciences, energy and information technology. UniLaSalle's strengths lie in its proximity to businesses and its commitment to ecological and societal transformation.
L'Étudiant's ranking, a reliable methodology
From a methodological point of view, l'Etudiant's ranking uses declarative data from two sources: certified data from the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur (©CTI - Year 2022) and press data from the Conférence des directeurs des écoles françaises d'ingénieurs (©CDEFI - Year 2022). Of the 169 French engineering schools taking part, 134 are public and 35 private. The 11 ranking indicators remain unchanged overall. Only the grading scale has been increased from 58 points to 111 points, in order to better assert the specific features of each school on each criterion, and thus facilitate guidance for high school students.
