It was with great sadness that the UniLaSalle Beauvais community learned of the death of Fares Charbel, a teacher-researcher in physics at the Bioprocesses College. Aged 71, he had just retired after more than 38 years of teaching at the school.
Although retired, Fares Charbel remained a familiar face on campus, continuing to interact with colleagues and students, and pursuing his commitment to the Lebanese projects he had initiated. Passionate about education, a bearer of strong values and a peacemaker, he left his mark on generations of students and colleagues.
A special tribute was paid to him this Friday by the 3ᵉ year students at their mid-study ceremony. He was delighted with the event and had planned the symbolic planting of a Lebanese cedar, in keeping with his unwavering commitment to his country.
The UniLaSalle community sends its thoughts and support to his family in this painful ordeal.
