Priority projects
In a complicated economic and social context, UniLaSalle and its Jean-Baptiste Gagne Foundation have decided to enhance their financial aid package for students by launching a 0-rate honor loan, thus doubling the overall allocation for grants and/or honor loans.
Accessible to the vast majority of UniLaSalle students, this scheme can be combined with a CROUS grant and a UniLaSalle merit-based grant. UniLaSalle and the Jean-Baptiste Gagne Foundation will cover all interest and deposit costs.
The launch of this new scheme comes at a time when many families are experiencing a significant loss of income due to a temporary reduction in their professional activity.
The aim of this project is to set up an experimental research station and a FabLab dedicated to alternative cropping systems. The objectives are to design and evaluate new soil-based practices and new off-soil productions.
AgriLab supports innovation in agriculture by helping farmers to realize their innovative projects.
It's also a FabLab open to all, based on knowledge sharing and mutual assistance. Everyone is free to build, repair, create, share and learn with the help of team members. AgriLab provides access to a wide range of machines at very low cost. All projects are sourced from the Internet.
Supporting AgriLab means embracing "Do, Share, Learn" together.
In November 2018, an experimental aquaponics module (which combines soilless plant cultivation and fish farming) was designed and implemented by 4th year students in one of the patios on the Rouen campus. It was installed at the end of a week-long module operated by Guillaume SCHLUR (Agriculture 2002, Rouen) who is founder and manager of the Ferme Aquaponique de l’Abbaye.
The training module aims to cover :
- module operation (fish farming system, hydroponic system), which will familiarize students with a complex, miniature, accessible system
- sizing and flow management
- theoretical aspects of plant/animal combinations
- design of a customized system
- an operational visit to the Ferme Aquaponique de l'Abbaye
The module has once again been proposed to 4th year students for the 2019/2020 school year, with new ideas including a vertical module. This project was the subject of an article in Echosciences Normandie.
COP TROTTER by EME is UniLaSalle's Rennes campus student association focused on climate issues.
Created to ensure the long-term participation of UniLaSalle-EME students in major climate events, COP TROTTER by EME offers conferences and awareness-raising workshops for the general public, and coordinates partnerships between change agents in favor of sustainable development. Its actions can be local, regional, national or international.
To showcase its exceptional collections of mineralogy, petrography and paleontology, UniLaSalle's Geosciences College has opted for a website in the form of a virtual museum. The creation of the Albert-de-Lapparent Virtual Museum makes it possible to open the doors of its compactus to as many people as possible, and to provide an educational tool accessible to all.
Thanks to the Albert-de-Lapparent Virtual Museum, students, researchers, teachers, pupils and industrialists have free access to the finest pieces in UniLaSalle's collections of fossils, minerals, ores and rocks.
UniLaSalle supports a project in Cameroon. Cameroonian students will continue their studies on one of UniLaSalle's campuses. Around twenty students will start their studies next September. If you'd like to support them, you can do so by choosing "International solidarity project" when you make your donation.
In 2010, UniLaSalle launched a program focusing on the diet of patients undergoing chemotherapy. Indeed, a well-chosen diet helps patients to better tolerate treatments and optimize their specific action, despite the risks of taste deviations and side effects that are sometimes difficult to bear.
Support is now available for patients, direct or indirect caregivers and catering professionals. The Vite Fait, Bienfaits website has been created to facilitate the distribution of recipes to patients.
